WELCOME to the official website of Warwick Boat
Club. Located in one of the most picturesque settings in England,
our grounds slope down to the River Avon and with Warwick Castle
as a backdrop, it is a truly magnificent setting.
Formed in 1861, the Warwick Boat Club now encompasses
Tennis, Squash, Rowing and Bowls. The whole club is owned and run
by its members and is therefore united by a special team spirit.
It is not uncommon, for example to see squash players take on rowers
at bowls, or to see tennis and squash players take on each other
at rowing during the club's Annual Regatta.
The Rowing section, which was the first sport at the club has around
150 members from juniors to veterans. Crews from Warwick have represented
the town at all levels of competition form local regattas through
to Henley Royal Regatta and even World Championships.
Back on land, the club boats 10 Astroturf tennis
courts and one all weather acrylic with 7 of these being floodlit.
The section holds a wide variety of tournaments, socials and coaching
courses throughout the year.
The Squash section was formed in 1968 and now
has 150 members. The main focus of the section revolves around a
monthly league, catering for all standards. Several teams from Warwick
Boat Club also compete in Warwickshire leagues.
Finally, the bowls section has around 60 members.
Within the club, the game has an important social aspect with dinners
organised by the club after most matches. Throughout the summer,
the club both organises and attends a wide range of fixtures throughout
the region. |
