Bowls at Warwick Boat Club

Bowls at Warwick Boat Club

Formed in 1902, the club is affiliated to Bowls England, Warwickshire County Bowls Association, Warwickshire Women’s Bowls Association, South Warwickshire Bowls Association, and South Warwickshire Ladies Bowls Association. Our four-rink bowling green is in a beautiful setting alongside the river Avon with Warwick Castle as a backdrop.

Members have a full programme of internal matches and competitions, home and away fixtures against other clubs. We have teams entered in the Stratford Herald, Kineton & District and Pickering Leagues and representatives playing for County and South Warwickshire. Members are able to bowl at many levels - social, galas, internal and County competitions, and fixtures against other clubs, some taking place mid-week - others at weekends. At the Bowls Academy on Monday mornings, newer bowlers may take advantage of coaching by experienced players who have followed an accredited training program.  The section also has a vibrant social calendar, with events such as coffee mornings, parties and barbecues taking place throughout the year.

Bowls Facilities

Situated on the banks of the River Avon our beautifully maintained four-rink bowling green is in a superb location next to Warwick Castle. The green is open daily from mid-April to late September – weather permitting – except for Monday mornings when it is reserved for the Bowls Academy.

The green can be used at any time for social play or practice when it is open unless it is required for a club fixture or has been booked for an internal competition match. The Bowls section has a secure pavilion where members have access to mats, jacks, and bowls gatherers.  Bowlers may also use the Club facilities including showers and changing rooms, the clubhouse, bar and cafe.
