New Bowls Members

Welcome to our Bowls section

We were all new members once and those who came before you found that they made a lot of friends and spent many happy hours on the green. We confidently hope and expect that you will do the same.

We welcome new members of all ages and abilities whether you just want to play recreationally or comptetively there is something for everyone.

We have junior bowls and actively encourage our club juniors to have a go!

Matches

Friday Gala

This is a Morning roll up open to ALL players - arrive 10.30 a.m. for a PROMPT 11.00am start. A match fee of £1.50 is charged. This is a good way to meet other members and improve bowling skills.

Informal Competitions

You will see in the bowls section handbook that Mix-In Days occur throughout the season, including the Mark Easton Triples Competition and the RNLI match. These are all informal internal competitions and are fun days. Come along and have a go – you will enjoy yourself. The Ladies also have their own Two Woods Day.

Internal Club Competitions

Ladies, Men’s and mixed competitions are held each season, entry forms are sent out in Jan/Feb and the draws are made at the pre-season Social evening. The current season’s draws can be seen on the notice boards, one for LADIES another for Men, in the clubhouse, together with the rules. Do enter, you will enjoy them!

Friendly Matches

The Section has a full programme of matches against local clubs (See your section fixture card for the dates). To play enter you name on the AVAILABILITY LISTS, which are posted to you by email and also put on our section notice boards. When/if you are picked for a team your name appears on the TEAM LISTS, again posted to you by email and put on the section notice boards.

League Matches

The ladies of the section run teams in the Stratford Herald League, matches are held on Friday evening’s mid-June to Mid-August. The Men also enter a team in the Courier League on Wednesday afternoons from April through to September.

Social Life
