I have been a member of the club for almost 25 years, after deciding to spend the time waiting for my daughter’s lessons with Jenny to end, by playing with other fathers in the same position. I now play every Saturday morning and on Tuesdays and Thursdays as my diary allows.
I don’t play to a high standard, but I enjoy my games at the Boat Club nonetheless and persevere with my lessons with Gavin.
My wife and three daughters have all played at the club and my youngest daughter represented the club as a junior and qualified as an assistant coach working at WBC with Jenny.
Professionally I have worked in business management in the Telecoms industry for all of my working life, and in the last 10 years have been Chairman of 4 large companies, one listed on the stock market and three private equity backed.
I believe this has taught me how to help and coordinate people to work together to achieve clear objectives in challenging and rapidly changing circumstances.
The General and Tennis committees have an exciting Vision for the club and I would like to help prioritise and execute the plans needed to deliver this Vision, once we have agreement from our members.
