The Warwick Boat Club is celebrating its 150th anniversary this summer! To celebrate this historic event we are holding a Victorian style garden party where we are hoping to see as many members, former members, friends and family as possible. We would encourage and welcome non-members to come along and see what a wonderful and friendly scene we have at the Warwick Boat Club.
This exciting afternoon of entertainment starts at 2pm and will be great fun for all of the family. It will include:
- Victorian garden games
- Boat races
- Victorian skiffs on the river
- Jazz band
- Tea dancing with professional tuition
- Victorian style fancy dress
- A strolling silhouette artist
- Children’s entertainment such as a magician, Punch and Judy and face-painting
- Afternoon cream teas
- Sandwiches and cakes
- Pimms bar
- Traditional lemonade and ice creams
- Pop corn
- Plus various prizes ...and much more...
In addition to the afternoon entertainment, there will be a hog roast in the evening and a disco until late.
We are hoping that the garden party will also appeal to former members who would like to catch up with old friends or simply be involved in this special occasion. It could be that first step needed to become involved again! Friends and family are very welcome.
The Garden party is available at a reasonable price of £20 per adult and £10 per child. Family tickets are £50 for 2 adults and 2 children.
Tickets are available behind the bar at the club or you can send a cheque to:

Please include the number of tickets required (per adult/child) and your return postal address.

The main social event of the summer, the Punt-a-barbecue was a great success on a lovely summer evening many thanks to Derek Whitehead and his team for all the hard work which goes into organising such event. Derek stood down as Social Chairman in the autumn of last year after a number of very successful years of running the clubs social events, the club are very grateful for all his hard work.
The last event of the 2009 was the Christmas party and the new social committee put in a tremendous amount of hard work to make it a great success with all the tickets sold.
2010 sees a total of eight social events organised. Starting on March 12th with a Quiz and Curry night and on the 22nd May we have are holding a “Has Warwick Boat Club got talent” review, for all our members with hidden talents.
All the events are now on the club web site with regular updates on the notice boards, we are trying to cater for all tastes and sporting sections. We have very dynamic social team putting these events together for members to have great time, also to support the club financially and encourage use of the bar.
We look forward to seeing you in the year ahead.
